Bold Women Collective: On the Move & Growing

If you have not yet heard about the EDmarket Bold Women Collective (BWC), now is the time to join the movement. The Collective is a year-round forum for connecting, sharing, and learning with other women in the education market to nurture and build a network for both friendship and potential business/partnership opportunities.

“It is especially critical for women leaders to develop a trusted network of colleagues, recruit others who may be like-minded, and connect with other professionals who may help them accomplish their goals,” explains EDmarket 2026 Chair and Bold Women Founder Dr. Deborah Kerr, superintendent at the St. Francis School District. “The Bold Women Collective provides these opportunities to meet, network, and learn together as women in leadership aspiring for greatness!”

The Bold Women Collective has gained in popularity and now features 8 virtual monthly meetings and in-person events at industry gatherings.

EDmarket Co-Sponsors NCE Bold Women Event

The first in person meeting of 2025 was as the National Conference on Education (AASA) in early March in New Orleans. EDmarket was one of the sponsors of the AASA Bold Women, Bold Conversations pre-conference event organized by Deb Kerr for female superintendents and district leaders. I was joined by my fellow EDmarket Bold Women: Heather Tuley, Karen Prince, and Adrienne Dayton.

BWC Backstory Podcast at NCE

The action continued on the exhibit floor where Nook Wellness Pods provided a terrific space for many incredible conversations with fabulous people during EDmarket’s Bold Women Collective (BWC) Backstory Podcast. Interviews conducted by 2024 EDmarket Chair Jolene Levin and Deb Kerr. The BWC Backstory Podcast debuted in January 2025 and highlights the experiences of women leaders in education, providing a platform to share their stories and inspire others.

BWC Backstory Podcast at Spring CUE 2025

EDmarket’s Bold Women Collective Backstory Podcast attended Spring CUE 2025, extending its reach and engaging attendees through live recordings. CUE (Computer-Using Educators) is a prominent organization and conference dedicated to advancing the integration of technology in education and fostering the professional development of educators. Spring CUE, the organization’s flagship event, brings together educators, innovators, and thought leaders from across the globe to explore cutting-edge tools, strategies, and best practices aimed at transforming education.

The Bold Women Collective’s presence at Spring CUE not only amplified their mission of empowering women in education but also aligned seamlessly with CUE’s broader vision of fostering collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity in the educational sector. Partnering with CUE provided the Bold Women Collective with a powerful platform to connect with a larger audience of educators and industry leaders, creating new opportunities for future collaboration and synergy. Through this alliance, the Bold Women Collective was able to engage with those who share a commitment to advancing education.

A Growing Movement

The Bold Women Collective continues to make strides in building a dynamic, supportive network of women leaders within the education sector. Through their Backstory Podcast, the Collective amplifies the voices of these leaders, providing a space where women can share their experiences, triumphs, and challenges. By doing so, the podcast fosters a sense of community and belonging, offering valuable insights, encouragement, and actionable advice to listeners. These personal stories not only inspire other women to take charge of their own educational journeys but also encourage them to break through barriers and redefine leadership in the field of education.
